BWWB Sets Public Hearing for 2021 Budget

A Virtual/Electronic Regular Board of Directors' Meeting and Public Hearing of the Water Works Board of the City of Birmingham has been scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 5:30 p.m.

To the extent necessary, this meeting will be held in accordance with Section III, Open Meetings Act, of the Governor’s March 18, 2020 Emergency Proclamation. This meeting will be to address matters (a) necessary to respond to the COVID-19 or (b) necessary to perform essential minimum functions of the Water Works Board.

Pursuant to Act No. 2015-164, Section 4(c), notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors intend to consider taking action consistent with Resolution No. 4166 which was adopted on December 23, 2003 (adoption of the Rate Stabilization and Equalization Procedure (RSE Model)) that may result in a rate increase.  At this meeting a hearing will take place to receive comments from the public.

Said public hearing will take place prior to any vote that may result in a rate increase. Following the receipt of public comments, in order to consider any comments that are presented, the Board of Directors reserves the right to delay taking any action that may result in a rate increase until a subsequent public meeting that is duly called and noticed consistent with Act No. 2015-164, Section 4(c).

In addition to the above proposed actions, this meeting will also be to consider and take action on other possible matters presented for Board of Directors’ approval.  A preliminary agenda will be posted as soon as practicable.
