Hydrate the City

The Hydrate the City program serves to raise awareness of the importance of staying hydrated as temperatures rise throughout the summer. Traditionally, the program involves a series of pop-up events in parks throughout the utility’s service, where BWWB representatives serve samples of infused water and share recipe cards, literature, and promotional items with community members.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 600 people are killed by extreme heat every year. Heat-related illnesses, like heat stroke and heat exhaustion, pose a higher risk to infants, young children, the elderly, and pets, and people who work outside are especially vulnerable to these conditions.
